1. Best time to go for meals at cookhouse? 15mins before closing as you can have all the leftovers. Mini buffet, army style.
2. Can drinks cost only 60 cents from vending machine. 100metres away at the canteen, it cost a dollar.
3. Free toilet rolls at level 1 toilet! 12 rolls, replenish everyday! seemingly unlimited supply.
4. Walking around in underwear everywhere at bunk level is normal.
5. The ones that don't fold their blankets and pull their bedsheets are mama/papa boys or they have a maid at home.
6. Outside world, employers value initiative. In the army, your platoon-mates hate initiative! Initiatives = you, a kingkong pounding your chest with arrows gone wide.
7. Being sick on a weekday is a good thing.
8. Amount of snacks wasted is fucking unbelievable. I once throw away 4 full bags of snacks. Snacks that could be sent over to Japan as relief effort!
9. My bunkmate cried at the sight of cockroaches.
